The South Carolina Business Education Association (SCBEA) recognizes a responsibility to assist teachers in developing business education programs that are current and relevant by providing conventions for teachers in the area of business education. SCBEA seeks to provide South Carolina business educators with current information on new trends in the field, speakers in various topics of interest, and effective leadership in business education.
SCBEA Purpose
The purpose of the South Carolina Business Education Association is to promote interest in all levels of business education and to encourage professional growth among all business education teachers in the state.

In the mid 1960's Pat Holland was the State Supervisor and under her leadership the South Carolina Office Occupations Association (SCOOA) was officially established in 1969.
Dr. Anne L. Matthews was a District Consultant at that time and was elected the first President of SCOOA in 1969. Dr. Matthews was elected President of the National Business Education Association (NBEA) in 1985-1986.
In the early 1970's SCOOA become the South Carolina Business and Office Education Association (SCBOEA) and eventually became the South Carolina Business Education Association (SCBEA).
